German team switches to Kawasaki and announces rider lineup

Big changes lie ahead for Triple M Racing, with the German team adopting Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR machines as their weapon of choice in the forthcoming season of the European Superstock 1000 Championship. As well as their new manufacturer partnership, the team also announced its rider lineup, with the resigning of 23 year old German, Marc Moser and new arrival, Ukrainian youngster Ilya Mikhalchik. It is also confirmed that Triple M Racing will be directly supported in their 2017 campaign by Kawasaki Europe.

“This is an exciting new challenge which I am really looking forward to,” said Mattias Moser, Team Owner of Triple M Racing. “We weren’t really able to make a lot of progress last year, so we made the decision that a major change was needed. I especially welcome Ilya Mikhalchik to the team, as I am convinced he has a great future as a racer and we want to help him to make the next step.”

Manuel Cappelletti, the team’s Manager further added, “Although the past years have been fruitful and we’ve had an excellent relationship with Ducati, together with Matthias we decided to start this new project as a result of the growing interest from Kawasaki. We will try it out with our riders Marc and the promising Ilya, to reciprocate the trust of Fabien Raulo and Steve Guttridge Kawasaki Racing and achieve results.”

“We received a great offer from Kawasaki and we are all excited and grateful for it,” commented Moser. “We considered all pros and cons as a team and we decided to accept this huge change. As a rider I am glad for it, though I have not tested the motorbike yet, but I think it is a great and competitive bike. Also, I am happy that the whole team, including me, stays together as we really work well together.”

19 year old, Ilya Mikhalchik who raced in the FIM Europe Supersport category in 2016 on a Kawasaki said, ”I’m really happy to join this family and also to keep riding a Kawasaki. I tested a few times the 1000cc bike, it’s really nice for my riding style, I like the powerful bike. I’m training a lot because it’s a bit change from 600cc! Anyhow I’m looking forward to riding my new bike and can’t wait to get on the track!“
